About Me ....
I have created this website
because I am proud to be British and have profound love for Great Britain and the British people.
This website was created on the 20th March, 2004 as a way of appreciating the
unique values of Great Britain and the British People. It is also a means of
saying "thank you" to the British people for their tolerance of other
nationalities, religious beliefs and cultures. This is the least I can
do for my adopted country. I had been meaning to do something like this for
quite a long time now, but hesitated to do so due to not being sure how it
would be perceived by my own people and others. But my religion commands
that I should acknowledge and show gratitude for the good that people do to
you; "Those who are not grateful to the people are
not grateful to Allah"
My name is Abdul Rashid. I am a naturalised
British Citizen. I am an Asian Muslim who was born in Malawi (Africa) in the
year 1952. Malawi was then a British colony called Nyasaland. I was accorded
the status of a British Subject at birth because I was born in a British
colony and so were my father and mother.
When the political situation in my country of birth
became unstable, my entire family emigrated to Great Britain in the 1970's. I have
now been living in Great Britain for over 30 years. All, except one, of my
children were born in Great Britain. They all grew up here. I have three
grown up sons and they all share my sentiments about Great Britain. We are
all law abiding citizens because this is what our religion commands us to
do.
Since emigrating to Great Britain, I have always worked
hard and continue to do so even now. My late father cautioned us against depending on
state benefits saying that once one becomes dependent on them, a person
becomes lazy and never prospers in his life. I agreed with him entirely.
Since emigrating to Great Britain, I have traveled to several countries. After
having first hand experience of the attitudes of other cultures and
countries, I have concluded that there is no other country in the world that can
match Great Britain in Tolerance, Religious Freedom,
Non-Discrimination, acceptance of a Multi Cultural Society, Equal Opportunities,
respect for Human Rights, Justice, Security, Law and Order, Honesty, Politeness,
Etiquette, Good Manners, Kindness, Honesty,
Generosity, etc. Also, unlike people of other western rich countries, the
British people are not arrogant! All these qualities are truly Islamic and
exactly what Islam teaches.
The Medical Health System in UK is also the best in the
world. The medical staff and doctors in UK are the best in their attitudes
and treatment of their patients. Their compassion, kindness and care of
patients is un-matched. The nurses and doctors are the best in the world. Their
patience, kindness and attention towards patients, regardless of their race, colour
or religion, are also un-matched. This is bearing in mind that medical
treatment is provided free of any charges in Great Britain! Even visitors
from abroad, who need emergency treatment while on their visit to England,
get the same treatment for free! Where on earth can you get this type of
humanity in this time and age? This truly is the Islamic welfare system.
All British citizens are treated equally regardless of
their race, colour or religion. This is truly what Islam teaches and stands
for. As a Muslim, I am ashamed to say that this can not be said about many
Muslim countries. The freedom and equality that I enjoy in Great Britain is
unimaginable in many Muslim countries. This is a very unfortunate but true
fact.
As I have already said earlier, this Website is a way of appreciating these unique values
of Great Britain and the British People. It is also a means of saying "thank
you" to the British people for their tolerance of other nationalities,
religious beliefs and their cultures.
As I and my family have now adopted Great Britain as our
home country, we are proud to be British and have profound love for the
country and her people. I would like to offer my sincere prayers by saying:
"God Bless Britain and protect the British people".
Our religion teaches that we should love the country that
we live in and should be its loyal and law abiding citizens. If we do not like the country
or its laws, we
should just leave the country, go and live elsewhere.
I strongly condemn any form of violence against anyone.
Whether it is instigated by individuals or governments. Whether instigated
in the name of religion or politics. Islam condemns all forms of violence or terrorism. Islam teaches that all humans are one great family of God, regardless of
different religious beliefs, nationality or race. They should love and
protect each other. They should not hate and kill each other.
As a Muslim, I consider life to be sacred and believe that to save one
life is like saving the whole humanity and taking one life is like killing
the whole humanity. All religions teach that
human life is sacred.
This is what Allah says in the Holy Qur'aan:
